Biography

Ian joined UCL Faculty of Laws as a Lecturer (Teaching) in 2024. He teaches the new third-year Social Welfare Law module, Public Law module, and Employment Law LLB. Alongside curriculum teaching, Ian supports students in developing skills and knowledge in preparation for roles in the legal field, undertaking external pro bono opportunities focused on public interest legal work. Prior to joining UCL, Ian practiced as a barrister and worked with a number of non-profit organizations in areas such as campaigning, strategic litigation, and legal support. He has particular expertise in equality, human rights, and social welfare law, with a commitment to widening access to justice.
