Ian Dawson is an artist, sculptor, lecturer, and researcher with 30 years of experience as a practicing artist and a 20-year career in academia. His recent collaborations include working with the Acorn Foundation at Shiv Nadar University in India to explore the potential of 3D printing in Dharavi, the largest informal settlement in the world and a major plastic recycling district in Mumbai. Ian is a regular collaborator with members of the Archaeological Computing Research Group and has been an invited speaker at 'The 3D Museums' Conference at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. He has written extensively on contemporary art practice, including the book 'Making Contemporary Sculpture' (Crowood Press) and has exhibited worldwide, with solo shows in New York (James Cohan Gallery), London (C&C Gallery), and Paris (Galerie Xippas). His works are held in public and private collections worldwide, including the Chaney Family collection and the GossMichael Collection.
