Biography

Ian McQuillan is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan, where he is also a member of the Bioinformatics Lab and teaches part of the Bioinformatics Program. He is an associate member of the Division of Biomedical Engineering. His main research areas include natural computing, biological modeling, bioinformatics, formal language, automata theory, and theoretical computer science. Ian completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Western Ontario and obtained his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Western. His research is currently supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
