Biography

Professor Ian Moyer received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2004, focusing on the interdisciplinary Committee Ancient Mediterranean World. His research explores themes in ancient history, modern historiography, and cultural interactions between ancient Greeks and Egyptians. Moyer's recent book, "Egypt Limits Hellenism," published in 2011, examines these historical encounters. His scholarly contributions include numerous articles in renowned journals, shedding light on various aspects of ancient religion, identity, and societal dynamics across cultural landscapes.
