Biography

After retiring in 2012, Ian Reid worked for six years at the University of Western Australia as a Senior Academic Reviewer for Course Structures Review and New Courses Implementation. He also served as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer for Leadership Western Australia from 2003 to 2007 and has been running his own consulting firm, ReidMac Consulting Services, since 2002. In his role as a consultant, Ian has led numerous projects for universities in Australia and internationally, focusing mainly on organizational development and strategic planning. He held the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Curtin University of Technology from 1991 to 2001 and was appointed as a Professor at Deakin University in 1978. Additionally, he has held honorary professorships at the University of Melbourne and JiLin University in the People's Republic of China. His academic qualifications include postgraduate degrees in English (MA from Canterbury, NZ), Business (EMBA from Monash), and Australian Studies (PhD from Adelaide), along with executive education certificates from Stanford Graduate Business School and Cornell School of Industrial & Labor Relations in the USA. Currently, he is involved in writing historical fiction and has been a Chief Investigator in national research projects, garnering a total of $1 million in competitive grant funding.
