Dr. Ian Schnoor

Biography

Ian Schnoor is the Executive Director of the Financial Modeling Institute, which is the world's leading financial modeling accreditation organization. He teaches Advanced Financial Modeling in the Master of Finance program at the Smith School of Business at Queen's University and has been recognized as a past recipient of the Professor of the Year award. Ian developed the Financial Modeling Practical Skills Module, which is a mandatory part of the CFA Institute curriculum. In 2002, he founded the Marquee Group, a prominent provider of financial modeling training and consulting services, which was sold to Training Street in 2023. He is a passionate educator who has trained thousands of students and professionals globally in financial modeling, valuation, and Excel. Ian began his career in the Investment Banking divisions of Citigroup and BMO Capital Markets. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree with academic distinction and is a CFA charterholder.
