Dr. Iazsmin Bauer Ventura

Biography

Iazsmin Bauer Ventura, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Section of Rheumatology at the University of Chicago. She specializes in the care of patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) and interstitial lung diseases (ILD). Dr. Bauer Ventura is the director of the multidisciplinary Myositis Program at the University, which includes specialists from Neurology, Pulmonary, and Dermatology to provide comprehensive care for individuals diagnosed with dermatomyositis, anti-synthetase syndrome, autoimmune necrotizing myopathy, inclusion body myositis, and polymyositis. She has served on international committees and has contributed to projects aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of myositis. Her clinical research focuses on clinical trials for patients with myositis and the application of cell therapy, including CAR-T cell technology. Additionally, she is a member of the multidisciplinary interstitial lung disease group at the University, running a combined rheumatology-pulmonary clinic for ILD patients with autoimmune diseases. The ILD Program she is part of has garnered international recognition for its innovative and collaborative approach to clinical research in ILD, providing various clinical trials related to these diseases. Dr. Bauer Ventura is dedicated to educating trainees in the field.
