Dr. Ibrahim Al Nahhal

Biography

Ibrahim Al-Nahhal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he has built a distinguished academic career. He earned his Ph.D. from Memorial University in 2020, following a Master’s degree from Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology in 2014 and a Bachelor’s degree from Al-Azhar University in 2007. His professional experience includes working as a Research Development Engineer at Nokia in Belgium, where he contributed innovative research in communication networks and signal processing. His areas of expertise encompass various topics in communications, with a particular emphasis on emerging technologies. His research interests include Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems, and Integrated Sensing Communication. In addition to his academic contributions, he is actively involved in the IEEE community as an Area Editor for IEEE Wireless Communications and serves as an IEEE Publication Misconduct Administrator. He has held a number of industrial patents and is a prolific author, with more than 40 high-impact publications to his name.
