Biography

Ibrahim M. Aly is a professor in the Department of Accountancy at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, where he has been a faculty member since 1989. He holds a PhD and MBA in Accounting from the University of North Texas and both MS and Bachelor degrees in Accounting with distinction from Cairo University, Egypt. Professor Aly has taught at various universities in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the USA, and Canada, and has developed coordinated accounting courses for both undergraduate and graduate levels. He has participated in the Symposium on Models of Accounting Education, sponsored by the Accounting Education Change Commission of the American Accounting Association. Over his years of teaching, Professor Aly’s instructional methods have consistently received high praise from students. He has won the College of Business Teaching Innovation Award for consecutive years. His publications appear in reputable, peer-reviewed journals across the fields of managerial accounting, financial accounting, behavioral accounting, and accounting education, and he has authored five books in management accounting. Professor Aly has presented his work at over thirty scholarly national and international conferences and has been recognized as a Research Professor in the Department of Accountancy. He has also organized various academic events, including the Department's Luncheon Presentations Series and a PhD Visiting Speaker Series, providing essential academic service to both graduate students and fellow professors. Additionally, he has conducted numerous seminars and workshops in financial and managerial accounting.
