Biography

Ibrahim is an Assistant Professor in the Thomas Lord Department of Computer Science and has a courtesy appointment at the Dornsife Spatial Sciences Institute at the University of Southern California. He leads the Next-generation Data-Intensive Systems Group (NexDIG) and previously held a postdoctoral position in the Data Systems Group at MIT CSAIL. Ibrahim is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the NSF/CRA Computing Innovation Fellowship from 2020 to 2023. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, where his dissertation received the University-wide Doctoral Dissertation Honorable Mention. His research interests include the development of next-generation data management, processing, and analysis systems using machine learning and quantum computing, aiming to create entirely new designs and algorithms for data-intensive systems. Ibrahim's work broadly covers data management in machine learning systems, scalable knowledge base construction, big spatial data management, video analytics, and causal analysis.
