Biography

Idrissa Beogo (MBA, PhD) is an associate professor at the University of Ottawa's School of Nursing and serves as the director of the Health Equity for the Aged Lab. He has studied and worked in Japan, Taiwan, West Africa, and Canada, including Quebec City, Winnipeg, and Ottawa. With extensive experience as an orderly and head nurse in long-term care homes, his research interests are fueled by the experience of aging multicultural groups, particularly language minorities and culturally diverse populations such as Blacks, Arabs, Asians, and Latin Americans. Professor Beogo is also an affiliated researcher at the Institut du Savoir Montfort and a member of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Black Health. He has received grants from Canadian research councils and government bodies, and he is currently accepting new students for thesis supervision. His research spans four major areas: aging multicultural groups, knowledge synthesis, implementation science, and gerontechnology, focusing on the challenges faced by older adults in community long-term care settings in Canada.
