Biography

Ifigeneia (Ifi) Mavridou specializes in affective computing, physiological sensing, and extended reality (XR: Virtual, Augmented & Mixed Reality) experiment design. Her doctoral thesis focused on detecting arousal valence (affective) states from physiological signals using novel wearable sensors in Virtual Reality. Ifi has designed and conducted numerous studies, including the largest biometric dataset at the Science Museum London in 2019, and has led application projects centered on training, health care, and wellbeing. She previously worked in the industry at Emteq Labs (UK) as a research engineer, contributing to the development of novel sensing systems and applications. Additionally, she has led a Research Consultancy team that explored providing consultation on the detection of physio-psychological insights for XR with both academic and industrial partners.
