Biography

Dr. Igor Pesun is an associate professor at the Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba. He holds a cross appointment in the Department of Diagnostic and Surgical Sciences at the Health Sciences Centre, CancerCare Manitoba. As a board-certified prosthodontist in the USA and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in prosthodontics, Dr. Pesun has extensive experience in the field of dentistry. His teaching spans the areas of restorative dentistry, dental materials, and prosthodontics at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Pesun has maintained a private prosthodontic practice, providing restorative, implant, and aesthetic dentistry. Moreover, he is an active clinical dental researcher, having published various scientific articles. He also serves as a reviewer for several national and international dental journals. As the Director of the Graduate Prosthodontic Program and a founding member of the Manitoba Dental Digital Asset Research Group, Dr. Pesun’s research focuses on the clinical evaluation of short- and long-term outcomes of treatments and implants, particularly analyzing treatment options through the University of Manitoba's AxiUm Dental Management System. He is a member of multiple professional organizations and has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally on clinical practice and educational methodologies.
