Biography

Igor Vladimirov holds M.Sc. degree in Control Systems (1989) and Ph.D. in Physics Mathematics specializing in Mathematical Cybernetics (1992), awarded by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russia. Between 1993 and 1997, he served as a Senior Research Associate at the State Research Institute of Aviation Systems. Following this, he worked at the Institute of Information Transmission Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow from 1994 to 2007, focusing on applied Kalman filtering and stochastic robust control. From 1997 to 2008, he held various research positions including Research Officer and Senior Research Fellow at the Mathematics Department of the School of Engineering at the University of Queensland, Australia. His research endeavors have spanned stochastic modeling, econometric time series, and statistical mechanics. Additionally, he served as a visiting research fellow at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Queen Mary University of London, in 2000. From 2009 to 2016, he was a Senior Research Fellow at UNSW Canberra, focusing on quantum stochastic control. He has been recognized with the B.N. Petrov Prize from the Russian Academy of Sciences and the European Control Conference Paper Award.
