Dr. Iliada Eleftheriou

Biography

Iliada Eleftheriou is a Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Sciences at the University of Manchester, where she specializes in Informatics and Data Science. With a background in Computer Science and Software Engineering, she focuses on mapping data movements in complex data environments and identifying socio-technical challenges in disparate information systems. She collaborates closely with various stakeholders including universities, industry leaders, and health partners to drive digital transformation in clinical settings, particularly in implementing data science projects within complex healthcare environments. Eleftheriou is deeply involved in community initiatives, co-leading the Cancer Research UK community network on health data systems and serving as an honorary digital consultant at Christie NHS Foundation Trust. Moreover, she is a Deputy Director of the Clinical Data Science programme at her university, actively designing and delivering curriculum for health informatics and data engineering courses, as well as providing training workshops for health data professionals. Eleftheriou's research interests align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on improving patient outcomes and optimizing clinical pathways through data science and artificial intelligence.
