Dr. Ilija Vickovich

Biography

Ilija Vickovich is an Honorary Lecturer at Macquarie University, primarily involved with the Macquarie Law School. His academic background includes extensive practical experience as a legal practitioner with over 20 years in litigation, focusing on commercial matters. He has authored co-authored books and scholarly articles in areas such as Contract Law, Legal History, and Legal Education. Ilija serves as a Unit Convenor for various core units in law, notably Evidence and Contracts, within both the LLB and JD programs. His educational qualifications include a Master of Laws (LLM) from Macquarie University and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney. Ilija has been an active contributor to the Macquarie University Law Society, participating in mooting competitions and contributing to the development of moot problems for competitions with the University of Sydney. His teaching and research interests include Evidence, Civil Justice, Dispute Resolution, and the intersection of law and religion. He has a particular focus on the judicial resolution of church disputes in his doctoral research. He also has experience teaching law units in Business School programs across several universities in Australia.
