Dr. Ilina Singh

Biography

Ilina Singh is a Professor of Neuroscience & Society at the University of Oxford, where she serves as Co-Director of the Oxford Wellcome Platform for Transformative, Inclusive Bioethics. She holds a doctorate in human development psychology from Harvard University and has over a decade of experience in bioethics, innovation methods, and sociology. Ilina's research is distinguished by its interdisciplinary approach and empirical ethics framework. Her current projects include nature-based interventions for flourishing wellbeing, artificial intelligence in digital mental health ethics, and global mental health ethics. Ilina leads participatory methods for co-design and co-production with young people, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including mobile technologies and digital gaming. She has been involved in several significant funded projects focusing on global genomic ethics and social prescribing for mental health. Her work emphasizes the importance of integrating first-person experiences of children and young adults in ethical evaluations, clinical decision-making, and policy formulation. Additionally, Ilina has received various prestigious awards for her innovative contributions in the field of mental health and bioethics.
