Dr. Ilma Chowdhury

Biography

Ilma Nur Chowdhury is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. She completed her MSc in Marketing with Distinction and returned for her PhD through a four-year scholarship. Ilma holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Marketing and a minor in Human Resources Management, graduating as the valedictorian of her class at the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, where she also received the M.A. Taleb Gold Medal. She has a proven record of classroom excellence and has developed significant expertise in social sustainability, sustainable value creation in service supply chains, and the management of vulnerable communities. Ilma has published her work in leading academic journals and is actively involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She plays a pivotal role in several research collaborations and has contributed extensively to social responsibility initiatives within her institution. Actively working on numerous external and internally funded projects, Ilma is committed to advancing the academic understanding of transformative services and sustainability in various sectors, focusing on integrating service management theory across different contexts.
