Dr. Ilya Kister

Biography

Ilya Kister, MD, is a Professor and Director of the Neuromyelitis Optica Treatment Research Program at NYU Langone Health. He specializes in the treatment of multiple sclerosis and related neuro-inflammatory diseases. Dr. Kister has been with NYU Langone since 2006, where he has developed a collegial environment for collaborative patient care. His clinical interests include rare neuro-inflammatory conditions such as neuromyelitis optica, MOG antibody-associated disease, and autoimmune encephalitis, among others. He is also engaged in clinical research and education within the field. Dr. Kister co-authored a textbook titled 'Top 100 Diagnoses in Neurology' and actively participates in numerous research studies related to multiple sclerosis. His goal is to optimize treatment for patients facing diagnostic challenges. With his dedication to neurology, he strives to advance the understanding and treatment of complex neurological conditions, providing patients with the highest quality of care.
