Professor Dr. Imaan Bayoumi

Biography

Dr. Imaan Bayoumi is an Associate Professor and Research Director at the Centre for Studies in Primary Care at Queen's University. With an MD from Queen's University and an MSc in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University, she specializes in Family Medicine. Dr. Bayoumi's work includes a focus on health equity, children's health, and the social determinants affecting health outcomes, particularly for under-served groups. She has been involved in key projects like TARGet Kids!, which is a primary care practice-based research network for children, and is a core group member supporting the Rourke Baby Record, an evidence-informed guide for health supervision in primary care for young children. Additionally, her research explores interventions to improve social determinants of health and access to health services for adults with mental health disorders. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys music, spending time in nature, and reading, demonstrating her commitment to social justice and effective health service delivery for under-served populations.
