Dr. Iman Osman

Biography

Iman Osman is the Rudolf L. Baer Professor of Dermatology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where she is also a Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Urology. She serves as Associate Dean for Clinical Research Strategy and Director of the Interdisciplinary Melanoma Cooperative Group. With a focus on melanoma, her research investigates the biological processes driving its aggressive behavior, identification of new molecular treatment targets, and the toxic response to therapies. Dr. Osman utilizes patients’ specimens linked to clinical data to prioritize targets for individual functional studies, employing cutting-edge technology to devise simple tools and assays to be utilized in clinical settings. Her work integrates machine learning to develop predictive models from multi-dimensional data. Dr. Osman's significant contributions to melanoma research emphasize the translation of promising laboratory findings into clinical applications for improved patient outcomes.
