Dr. Imen Zorgati

Biography

Imen Ben Youssef Zorgati's research sits at the intersection of urban planning and the social sciences and humanities. She focuses on living spaces, the materials that define them, and constructive practices and techniques from a semiotic, ecological, and anthropological perspective. Her interests also include design practices and processes as intellectual, artistic, social, and political endeavors, aiming to enhance them through fundamental and creation-oriented research. Her research objectives center on the materiality of design and the sensory, cultural, and ecological qualities of the materials used. Through an interdisciplinary approach, she promotes design research that highlights the evolution of built environment design through an ecosocial perspective.
