Biography

Imran Shafique Ansari received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 2009, graduating with honors. He earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in 2010 and 2015, respectively. Since August 2018, he has been a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the University of Glasgow, UK. Before this role, he served as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Global College of Engineering and Technology, affiliated with the University of the West of England in Bristol, UK, from November 2017 to July 2018. Prior to that, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Texas A&M University Qatar from April 2015 to November 2017. He has a distinguished academic record as an author or co-author of over 70 journal and conference publications. His research interests cover areas such as free-space optics, channel modeling, relay and multihop communications, physical layer security, full duplex systems, and secure device-to-device applications in 5G+ systems. He has also co-organized workshops at IEEE conferences, contributing significantly to his field.
