Biography

Indrek Kulaots is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Engineering at Brown University. He completed his M.S. degree in Thermal Engineering at Tallinn University of Technology in Estonia in 1995 and later earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Brown University in 2001. He has been involved in several funded research projects related to the safe handling of graphite oxide and the use of biochars. Additionally, he has received multiple awards for his teaching excellence, including the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in Engineering in 2022. Kulaots is also recognized for his contributions to advancing research in environmental engineering and has published research in various prestigious journals. He collaborates with other experts in the field and is a member of several professional societies, including the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
