Professor Dr. Ines Azevedo

Biography

Professor Azevedo is passionate about solving complex problems that involve environmental, technical, economic, and policy issues. She emphasizes that traditional engineering approaches play a crucial role but cannot provide complete answers. Her research focuses on assessing how energy systems are likely to evolve, which necessitates comprehensive knowledge of the technologies needed to address future energy demands. Her work is directed towards improving decision-making processes by engaging various economic agents. Azevedo holds a position as a Professor in Energy Science & Engineering and serves as a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment as well as the Precourt Institute for Energy. Additionally, she is a courtesy professor in both Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth System Science.
