Dr. Inga Mehrani

Biography

Inga Mehrani is a Project Manager at the Australian Memory Clinics Network project, which is part of the NHMRC-funded Australian Dementia Network (ADNeT). The Australian Memory Clinics Network aims to connect clinicians involved in the diagnostics of individuals experiencing cognitive decline and dementia in Australia to boost collaboration among them. The project seeks to establish a common clinical cognitive dataset and to harmonise standards across Australia’s Memory Clinics. Inga, trained as a Speech Pathologist, has developed significant research interests in improving the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with stroke-induced neurodegenerative language impairments. She completed her PhD in Cognitive Science as part of the International Doctorate Experimental Approaches Language Brain (IDEALAB) program at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, and the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Her recent research focuses on speech planning processes, particularly conceptualisation, and the potential deficits in conceptualisation among speakers with stroke-induced primary progressive aphasia.
