Biography

Inge Sorensen received an MPhil with Distinction in Media Culture from the John Logie Baird Centre at the University of Glasgow in 1998, and worked for a decade as an award-winning producer and development producer in television fiction. She earned her PhD in Documentary in a Multiplatform Context from the University of Copenhagen in 2013. Inge joined the Centre for Cultural Policy Research as a Lord Kelvin Adam Smith Research Fellow in Digital Economy and Culture and is now a Senior Lecturer in Screen Industries and Media Policy. Her research focuses on the practices, policies, and political economy of national and global screen industries, with emphasis on the UK and Scandinavia. She has strong ties to the British and European screen industry, maintaining connections with production companies and funding agencies. Her work highlights the implications of policy on interactive factual screen media and environmental sustainability in production. She is a member of the Peer Review Councils for the UKRI’s Arts and Humanities Research Council and the UKRI’s Talent Peer Review College. Currently, she serves as a Co-Investigator on several projects that explore broadcasting policy and the screen industry in Scotland.
