Biography

Inge Marie Svane is a Clinical Professor in Clinical Oncology at the University of Copenhagen. She serves as the director of the translational research centre, Center for Cancer Immune Therapy (CCIT). Her work primarily focuses on developing immunotherapeutic strategies for a broad spectrum of cancer diseases, including myeloma, melanoma, lung, kidney, breast, and prostate cancer. Under her leadership, CCIT has conducted numerous clinical trials that have involved over 200 cancer patients since its establishment in 2005. Svane's research includes investigating how the immune system interacts with cancer and the defects leading to the immunological failure to recognize and eliminate cancer cells. Additionally, her work encompasses the development and testing of peptide vaccines, dendritic cell-based vaccines, and T-cell therapies, as well as experimental treatments that combine standard chemotherapy with novel approaches to enhance efficacy.
