Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Ingrid Macindoe. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Ingrid Macindoe completed her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Sydney in 2010 under the supervision of Dr. Margie Sunde. Since 2014, she has been working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Professor Joel Mackay's laboratory. Ingrid began her career as a structural biologist, focusing on the self-assembly of fungal proteins during her PhD, utilizing X-ray crystallography to solve the structure of a protein involved in chromatin looping. Her research has evolved to incorporate cell biology, employing techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, RT-qPCR, and ChIP to study the epigenetic regulation of gene expression. Recent projects include investigating the imprinting of the Ube3a gene implicated in Angelman Syndrome through antisense transcript targeting and examining the role of BET proteins in chromatin remodeling. Ingrid also co-supervises PhD, Honours, and TSP students, as well as visiting international students in Professor Mackay's lab, and has experience in demonstrating to undergraduate students across first, second, and third-year levels.
