Ingrid Schneider is a Professor at the Department of Informatics and the Department of Political Science at the University of Hamburg. She specializes in the intersection of digital platforms, data governance, and ethics in technology. Throughout her career, she has contributed substantially to discussions surrounding digitalization in the Global South, emphasizing the socio-political implications of AI, big data, and technology regulation. With a strong research background, Ingrid has held various esteemed positions, including Senior Researcher in Information Technology Ethics and has been involved in numerous international research projects. Her publications encompass a wide range of topics related to digital political theory, the ethics of technology, and data economy. She has also served as an adviser for parliamentary committees on law and ethics in medicine. Ingrid's academic journey began with her Doctorate in Political Science at the University of Hamburg, culminating in a Habilitation in 2010, which allowed her to lead independent research and academic endeavors.
