Ingrid Steenhuis holds a bachelor's degree in Nursing and a master's degree in Health Sciences. In 2002, she earned her PhD from Maastricht University, focusing on the effectiveness of interventions in company canteens and supermarkets to promote healthy choices. Following her graduation, she worked as a lecturer at Maastricht University, the Open University, and Erasmus University. She has authored several books aimed at professionals, with 'Smartsize' winning the Golden Feather award. Steenhuis has received the Societal Impact Award twice. In teaching, she instructs courses on Prevention and Public Health, along with other subjects on behavioral change and has served as program director for the bachelor's and master's programs in Health Sciences.
