Dr. Ingrid Verheul

Biography

Ingrid Verheul is an Associate Professor at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. She specializes in entrepreneurship, focusing on the determinants of entrepreneurship, including gender differences and the role of ADHD in entrepreneurial tendencies. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. earned from the Erasmus School of Economics, where she scrutinized various facets of entrepreneurship, especially in her thesis which was defended in June 2005. Verheul has contributed significantly to the field, with her studies published in reputable journals such as the Journal of Business Venturing and Small Business Economics. She is also involved in the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM) as a full member and has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for prestigious international journals. Her involvement with entrepreneurship extends beyond academia, as she is also a member of the scientific committee of the Dutch Federation of Female Entrepreneurs (FZN). Verheul teaches various courses related to entrepreneurship, recently engaging with students through lectures designed to instill a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship as a discipline.
