Biography

Insoon Chang is an Assistant Professor at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin, and several degrees from UCLA, such as a Master of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery, culminating in a Ph.D. in Oral Biology. His research focuses on the molecular pathways of signal transduction related to head and neck carcinoma, particularly in relation to chemotherapy resistance, invasive growth, and metastasis. Currently, he is exploring the signaling mechanisms involving mesenchymal stem cells and dental stem cells in regeneration. Throughout his career, Chang has received numerous accolades, including the AADR Hatton Award in 2016 and the NIH/NIDCR F30 Individual Research Fellowship in 2015. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Endodontics and the American Dental Association.
