Biography

Intidhar Labidi-Galy is a medical oncologist and researcher focused on the pathogenesis and precision medicine of breast and ovarian cancer. She leads a laboratory at the Translational Research Centre Oncohaematology at the University of Geneva, contributing significantly to understanding the genomic alterations in cancers and their interaction with the tumor microenvironment. Her main research interests include the implications of inherited BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations in women's cancers and the development of targeted therapies. After obtaining her medical degree in Tunisia and training in France, she pursued a PhD in onco-immunology and later completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard University. She joined the University of Geneva in 2014 and established her research group in 2017. Dr. Labidi-Galy's investigations have revealed critical insights into high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma, particularly concerning its origins in fallopian tubes rather than ovarian surface epithelium. Her work aims at translating research findings into clinical applications to improve the lives of women battling cancer. She has published numerous articles and is a member of the CRTOH steering committee.
