Biography

Ioannis Zeimpekis is an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton, where he leads a team focusing on the development of advanced materials. With a PhD in microelectronic systems design from the University of Southampton obtained in 2012, his research spans electronics, photonics, and material science. He has over 16 years of nanofabrication experience, having worked on a wide range of materials and processes in applications such as MEMS and biosensors, as well as reconfigurable photonics. Currently, his primary focus is on wafer-scale processes involving 2D materials and the development of novel low-loss phase-change materials for optoelectronic applications. Ioannis is the author of more than 60 publications and is a member of the Sustainable Electronic Technologies Centre and Neuromorphic Technologies Research Group.
