Dr. Irène Abi Zeid

Biography

Irène Abi-Zeid is a Full Professor in the Department of Operations and Decision Systems at Laval University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Statistical Hydrology from the French National School of Forestry, and her research interests include decision support systems, assessment optimization and management, risk analysis, and quantitative methods in environmental sciences. Prof. Abi-Zeid has been an active member of various academic and research communities, collaborating extensively on projects related to statistical literacy, multi-criteria decision making, and artificial intelligence applications in sustainable cities. She has held significant administrative roles, including director of the Centre for Modeling, Information, and Decision Research Group at Laval University and has been involved in organizing numerous conferences and seminars in her fields. Throughout her career, she has supervised numerous doctoral and master's students and has contributed to the academic community by serving on editorial boards and serving as a referee for various journals and funding programs. Prof. Abi-Zeid's dedication to teaching and research has been recognized through several awards and honors for her innovative contributions to her field.
