Biography

Irene Dedoussi is an Associate Professor of Sustainable Aviation Energy in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, where she is also a member of the Whittle Laboratory. Her research interests focus on understanding the environmental impacts of aviation transportation and energy sectors, along with emerging energy sources and technologies that facilitate change. Prior to her role at the University of Cambridge, Irene was an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft, where she remains affiliated. She is a fellow of the Netherlands Academy of Engineering and a member of the Young Academy (De Jonge Akademie) of the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). Irene holds a PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a Master’s degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and a Master of Engineering with Honours (with Distinction) in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
