Biography

Irene Fonseca is a University Professor of Mathematics and the Director of the Center for Nonlinear Analysis at Carnegie Mellon University. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Fonseca is a fellow of the American Mathematical Society and SIAM, and has received the International Society Interaction Mechanics Mathematics Senior Prize.
