Biography

Irene C. Kuo, MD, is an Associate Professor in Ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and serves as the Clinic Director at the Wilmer Eye Institute in White Marsh. She is recognized as one of America's top ophthalmologists and has received numerous awards, including the Patient's Choice Award. Dr. Kuo is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Cornea Society. She has participated in various research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health, evaluating the best available evidence for eye care treatments. Her research interests include antibiotics in corneal storage mediums, clinical outcomes of refractive surgery, and wound healing in infectious keratitis. Dr. Kuo is also an active member of editorial boards for various ophthalmology journals and has presented her work at numerous conferences. She completed her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco, and underwent residency at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Subsequently, she completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at UCSF.
