Biography

Irina Voiculescu has been with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford since 1999, having obtained her PhD from the University of Bath, where her research focused on Constructive Solid Geometry. She has contributed to the development of geometric modeling software and has been part of the Spatial Reasoning research group at Oxford, conducting research in various fields including molecular modeling, medical imaging, and polynomial root finding. Her interests extend to the application of multivariate polynomial forms in geometry and the development of methodologies for weakly supervised learning in clinical applications. Irina has been actively involved in public engagement activities, including the Oxford RobotGames, which encourages high school children to design and build robots, as well as projects involving robotic flocking behavior. She is a Fellow of the UK Geometric Modelling Society and serves as an Associate Editor for the SPIE Journal of Medical Imaging.
