Dr. Iris Engelhard

Biography

Iris Engelhard is a professor of Clinical Psychology at Utrecht University, where she leads an innovative research program addressing academic clinical questions related to post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety disorders. Her research aims to bridge the gap between basic science and clinical practice, ultimately contributing to the optimization of effective treatments for mental health issues. Engelhard manages the Experimental Psychopathology Lab at Utrecht, where she focuses on understanding the causes and treatments of these disorders. She is a registered Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and a licensed Health Care psychologist. Additionally, Engelhard teaches within the Clinical Psychology program and the Social Health Research master's program. She is an active member of the Open Science Community Utrecht and serves as a confidential advisor on Scientific Integrity at Utrecht University. With a PhD from Maastricht University, Engelhard has been recognized as a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard University and holds fellowships with the Association for Psychological Science. Her extensive experience includes affiliations with Altrecht Mental Health Care and the Altrecht Academic Anxiety Center, along with significant achievements in research funding, including multiple grants from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research.
