Iris Mosweu is a LSE Fellow in the Department of Health Policy, currently completing her PhD at King’s College London. Her research investigates the economic impact of late uptake and non-adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) among HIV patients in England. The focus of her PhD work is on a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded program evaluating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of engagement and support interventions for HIV patients initiating ART, utilizing a trial-based economic evaluation approach enhanced with a Markov model to assess long-term cost-effectiveness. Iris has also served as a Research Associate at King’s College London, primarily evaluating the economic impact of interventions in both physical and mental health contexts. Her previous experience includes a research role with the Ministry of Health in Botswana, where she evaluated health financing systems and assessed national health accounts, as well as serving as a Project Associate with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Iris is actively involved in research on the economic impact of health programs and interventions in Africa, with a specific interest in mental health. She has published work on economic evaluations within global mental health and has taught various health economics modules at LSE.
