Biography

Iris Tong, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Tong received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York and completed her residency in general internal medicine at Alpert Medical School, where she also served as chief resident. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Tong serves as the Assistant Dean of the Advising Program for the Liberal Medical Education (PLME) at Brown University and is a mentor for students in the medical program. She co-directs the internal medicine consult service within the Internal Medicine Residency program and is a core faculty member for the Women's Health Track in General Internal Medicine. Dr. Tong has held leadership roles including being past director of the Doctoring Course at Alpert Medical School and has been actively involved in women's health initiatives. Her clinical academic interests focus on medical education, particularly emphasizing women's health. Dr. Tong has received multiple awards for her teaching excellence at Brown University, and her contributions to medical education have been recognized by various organizations.
