Biography

Irogue Igbinosa is an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Maternal Fetal Medicine) at Stanford University. As a Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician, her research focuses on critical areas such as iron deficiency anemia during pregnancy, severe maternal morbidity and mortality, and health equity. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Baton Rouge. In addition to her clinical duties, Igbinosa is involved in public health initiatives, having been a fellow at the AAMC-CDC and working with the CDC Emergency Operations Center regarding Zika virus management in pregnant individuals. Her current research includes co-investigating Stanford's PHRISM project aimed at preventing inequities in maternal health and leading a project called NOURISH focused on prenatal nutrition education through community health workers and doulas. Igbinosa is dedicated to enhancing healthcare delivery and practices that support reproductive justice and maternal health.
