Biography

Irving Wladawsky-Berger is a Visiting Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management, focusing on Information Technology. With a 37-year career at IBM, he specialized in innovation and technical strategy, playing key roles in initiatives related to e-business, supercomputing, Linux, and Cloud Computing. Since retiring from IBM in 2007, Wladawsky-Berger has consulted for Citigroup, advising on global banking and technology innovations. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Imperial College Business School and a Senior Fellow at the Levin Institute of the State University of New York. Wladawsky-Berger is involved with several advisory boards and committees, such as the InnoCentive Advisory Board and the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and was named Hispanic Engineer of the Year in 2001. He holds an MS and PhD in Physics from the University of Chicago.
