Dr. Isabel Morais

Biography

Isabel Morais, MD, is an accomplished Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. With an academic background including a Doctor of Medicine from New York University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science from City College of New York, she has established a significant presence in the field of women's health. Dr. Morais has had a long career as an attending physician and lecturer, also serving as chief of the maternity department at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. Her research interests focus on addressing the women's health needs in community healthcare, enhancing the understanding of health safety issues in Connecticut. Additionally, Dr. Morais has contributed to the education of medical students through roles at Tufts University and has been recognized for her commitment to teaching, earning accolades such as Teacher of the Year. Beyond her clinical duties, she is a founding board member of the Connecticut Health Investigative Team (C-HIT), a group dedicated to investigative journalism in health issues, aimed at improving health safety in the region.
