Biography

Isabella Cunningham holds J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from universities in Brazil and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Michigan State University. She joined the Department of Advertising in 1974 and served as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing and as an Assistant Professor at St. Edward's University. Her key areas of expertise include the legal and ethical aspects of advertising, promotional communications, and media effectiveness. She is particularly interested in political advertising and the impact it has on youth and minority groups. Looking ahead, she aims to continue her research focus on the effectiveness of advertising and the integration of communications in traditional and digital media. Cunningham is also engaged in efforts to enhance global communications through new technology and distance learning initiatives, allowing for the exchange of ideas and resources across a complex communications landscape.
