Dr. Isabelle Auclair

Biography

Isabelle Auclair is a Full Professor and Chairholder of the Claire-Bonenfant Chair - Women, Knowledge, and Societies at Laval University. She is an expert in gender studies, focusing on topics such as gender development, humanitarian action, and project management. Auclair's academic journey includes a Doctorate in Anthropology from Laval University. She actively participates in various research initiatives, contributing significantly to feminist research within the francophonie. Her research interests center on the intersections of gender, social justice, and the empowerment of marginalized communities. Auclair has supervised numerous graduate students and collaborates with various academic institutions across Canada. She is engaged in initiatives to address violence against women and enhance citizen participation among Indigenous women in Quebec. Auclair demonstrates a commitment to advancing feminist scholarship and pedagogy, frequently presenting at conferences and contributing as a committee member in various academic bodies.
