Dr. Isabelle Fabbricotti

Biography

Isabelle Fabbricotti is a Professor at the Health Services Management Organization in the Institute of Health Policy & Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her primary area of expertise involves the development of integrated care and innovative care arrangements. Fabbricotti has extensive experience in evaluating large-scale, complex, multidisciplinary interventions, focusing on experimental intervention strategies for frail older adults with conditions such as dementia, stroke, COPD, and hip fractures. She received the Prof. Dr. Burema Prize for her comparative study on the quality of care in old people's homes, nursing homes, and all-age housing. Her research focuses on the evolving relationship between patients and their formal and informal caregivers, aiming to enhance the quality of care delivery through digital innovations, including eHealth solutions. Fabbricotti has served as the project leader for the Horizon 2020 ACCRA project, which emphasizes agile co-creation robotics for older adults. Currently, her research centers on the design and optimization of integrated care pathways, with a particular focus on leveraging digital innovations for improved patient outcomes. She employs qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods designs, alongside co-creation approaches and realist evaluation frameworks, to advance a holistic and inclusive perspective on patient care.
