Biography

Isabelle Hardy holds a doctorate in medicine and a specialization in ophthalmology from the University of Montreal, as well as a subspecialty in oculoplastics from McGill University and the Rothschild Ophthalmological Foundation in Paris. She has been an associate clinical professor in the Department of Ophthalmology since 2006 and was responsible for the oculoplastics section of the residency and fellowship programs from 1995 to 2012. Dr. Hardy is recognized for her expertise in orbital-palpable oncology, including surgical reconstruction and eyelid surgery, as well as her contributions to research on thyroid eye disease and ocular adnexal lymphomas. Since 2012, she has served as the head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, during which time the department obtained the designation of University Center of Ophthalmology by the MSSS. She initiated a pilot project for teaching first-line eye care aimed at optometry students and family medicine residents at the University of Montreal.
